4 week course: Yin Yoga & Myofascial Release

Learn about the philosophy and practise of Yin Yoga and Myofascial release, improve your physical & emotional wellbeing and bring balance into your life.
The practise of Yin Yoga serves as an antidote to a busy, active life style and naturally helps you to restore your energy levels. Positions are typically held between 3-5 minutes for a deep release of physical and emotional tension.
Myofascial Release involves compression that is held for a certain period of time and released so tension and trigger points can resolve - typically with Massageballs or props such as yoga bolsters or blocks.

In combination the two methods will give you a deeper understanding of your holding patterns and help you to release tension, increase range of movement and erase pain.

In this 4-week course you will:

  • practice and modify Yin Yoga poses and evaluate when yoga props are needed.

  • understand where and how you should feel the effects of the poses.

  • understand how emotions affect us and their relation to the connective tissue.

In addition you will learn:

  • Fascia lines & Meridians according to traditional chinese medicine.

  • Accupressure points to calm the nervous system, increase blood flow and release aches.

  • Application of pressure & tension (with props such as: Tennis- or Massageballs, Blankets, Yoga Blocks).

  • Breathing Relaxation techniques.

Earn 5 continuing education credit points if you are a registered Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance on Techniques, Training and Practise, Anatomy & Physiology and Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle & Ethics.

Please note: There are only 8 studio spaces for this course. All equipment in studio will be provided and includes: yoga mats, straps, bolsters, blocks, massage balls and blankets.

If you want to participate online or practise with the recordings you will need: a bolster or thick blanket, one yoga block and a set of 2 yoga tune up Massageballs or equal (can be 2 tennis balls and a sock).
