ABOUT YOGANA

Johanna HellingeR

yoga teacher - Thai yoga massage therapist
roll model practitioner - laughter yoga leader

Hi, my name is Johanna and i am a passionate yoga practitioner, explorer, nature lover and surfer. I am a registered and experienced Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance International and have been teaching Yoga full-time in Portugal and in France since 2015.

A bit about myself and how I got here…
I started attending Yoga classes back in 2005 to find mental balance and help with back and sciatic pain from my then very stressful Marketing job.

In 2010 i quit my job and volunteered in Central and South America and lived and worked in New Zealand, Australia and California to expand my horizon.
I continued to experiment with movement practises such as Pilates, Dance and different Yoga traditions, styles and methods until my travels finally brought me to India.
I undertook my Yoga teacher training in the beautiful Himalayan mountain province of Dharamsala in 2015 and learned about Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin Yoga. In 2018 i went back to the green Jungle of South Goa, India and continued training with Trimurti Yoga School based on 5 Elements Yoga, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Through Yoga I found a passion for Anatomy and working holistically with bodies and energetic systems via touch and Massage. I trained with Katrin Heuser, Founder of Hadadi School of Thai Massage in Lisbon to become a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist in 2015 and have been massaging since then.

In addition I trained with Portugals Laughter Yoga ambassador Sabrina Tacconi to become a Laughter Yoga leader and offer workshops online and in person.

The Roll Model Method is another recent addition to my skills that i use in private Yoga classes and workshops. It is a self-care Myofascia Massage method, using Yoga tune up Massage Balls to erase pain and enhance performance and proprioception in the body.

Currently i teach weekly classes at Little Yoga Space Lisboa and organise Yoga workshops and Yoga and Surf days around Lisbon's beaches.

From April to November i also teach outdoor lessons with Rooftop Yoga Lisboa in the beautiful parks and on Rooftops with the best views of Lisbon, combined with brunches.

For me, Yoga is the ultimate Form of balance. By practising and sharing my knowledge i feel i can bring peace and harmony into every day of my life and empower my students to also feel better in their mind and bodies.

I love to meet people from all over the world that like to laugh and follow their passion for the things they love doing and being in nature. I am very grateful to be able to share my experience and the benefits of all practises - Yoga, Laughter Yoga, Myofascial Release and Thai yoga Massage with you.
